The Game
Melovar's Tale is a Slay the Spire inspired roguelike deckbuilder where every card drawn, every relic discovered, and every decision made, carves a unique path through a world of fire and shadow in the land of Eodolas. I wanted this game to have hints of the overarching story, tactical game mechanics, epic audio and music, to provide something for the playerbase to enjoy.
Unique Cards
Every card in Melovar's Tale has been crafted with deliberate mechanical design. From devastating fire strikes, impenetrable ice barriers, to multistrike combos, each card offers unique strategic possibilities.
Build your synergies across attack, skill and power archetypes. Discover powerful combos that chain across card types, relics and even utilise the cards from other heroes if the opportunity presents itself. The possibilities are vast but sometimes come with a price. Carefully make your choice and ensure the darkness doesn't overwhelm you... Or even Greed!
Powerful Relics
Relics are the major factor that can define your run and playstyle. Each one bends the rules of the game and with hundreds of combinations, can lead to undiscovered moments which are there for you to explore! Relics from powerful enemies or hidden within events. Those and the legendary Boss Relics can ultimately find you that rush of being able to take on the hardest of enemies and challenge many secrets.

Roguelike Depth
No two runs of Melovar's Tale are ever the same. Navigate procedurally generated maps with branching paths, discover massive array of mysterious events, get really lucky with a treasure node or find yourself testing your decision making and face escalating encounters that push your deck and strategy to its limits.
Choose between risk and reward at every crossroad. Will you take the shortcut to power through tribute or sacrifice, or play it safe through the path with least resistance? Every choice matters. Every path can suddenly change your fate so be ready to fail and try again!

Multiple Heroes
Select a unique hero, each with distinct starting decks and special abilities. Unlock new cards and synergies that open up realms of creativity.
Meta Progression
Earn XP across runs to unlock permanent upgrades, new cards, perk trees, and Ascension ranks that increase the challenge exponentially. Find yourself on the Leaderboard and show the world your ability.
Boss Encounters
Face terrifying bosses with unique mechanics and multi phase battles. Some with a pattern that may be understood and some with chaotic movesets. Adapt your strategy on the fly or be consumed by the darkness.
