I have spent several years thinking about developing a game like this. I have always been inspired by card games and felt that my story for Melovar was ready to come about but I just never knew how to start. Inspired by amazing games that I have spent so much time enjoying such as Magic the Gathering and Slay the Spire, I wanted to create something that would be enjoyable for you and hopefully with your feedback and support, I can continue creating and bringing my visions to life.
The Inspiration
The world of Melovar's Tale was born from a deep love of card games and roguelike deckbuilders. The character of Lord Melovar has been in development for years, his backstory, his lore, the land of Eodolas and the realm of Stormgale Mountain. Essentially the story of good and evil and the strength of the human spirit. The seed of my vision was all meticulously crafted long before a single line of code was ever written.
Another huge part of my inspiration is my 13 year old nephew, Aariz. He helped create a number of cards and relics with his own vision in mind. I used his love of fantasy gaming as a source for my designs and vision. Every relic, card and lore piece has been designed with intention and his input. The goal was never to create just another card game, but to build a world that players could lose themselves in, and where every run gives the player more information into the history of Lord Melovar.
The Character That Started It All
Lord Melovar, the Heart of the Kingdom is more than just a game character. He represents the values of sacrifice, loyalty, and the unbreakable bond of family. His story was crafted with depth and care. How I feel about my life and I wanted to put that vision of who I would be into this character.

He is rarely ever seen without his crimson clad armour that sparkles with a transient dragonflame, creating an azure fire around him. Melovar's sleek silver hair frames his pale face. His eyes, piercing green, matching the power and intensity of his aura. The fierce leader of Stormgale Mountain who would do anything to protect his people. Nothing is more important than his home and his family. There is nothing he would not sacrifice for them.
